Key Responsibilities

• Overtly support and act in accordance with the school’s mission and values

• Teach four classes at varying levels in grades 3-8

• At the elementary levels, work collaboratively with Lower School homeroom teachers to plan, teach, and assess

• Demonstrate appropriate planning and preparation for instruction at all levels

• Develop and maintain a classroom atmosphere centered on intellectual inquiry and student engagement.

• Foster classroom community through inclusionary, compassionate, and supportive practices

• Uphold professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy, and discretion

• Appropriately carry out specific responsibilities as designated by the division (eg. duties, advisory, outdoor education trips, conferences, admissions events)

• Honor the confidentiality of school and student information

• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues

• Engage in self-reflection and professional development through goal setting, lesson observations, professional development opportunities, and ongoing dialog with division directors
